Elevating ‘Protection’ into an Emotional Territory for Dettol and protecting customers physical as well as mental health.
With social distancing and various restrictions in play for more than a year, the pandemic has taken a toll on HongKongers’ mental health, depriving them of human connection with others. With people feeling a prolonged lack of human connection amidst over a year social distancing, we worked the “Bath to Hug” campaign with Dettol to help people reconnect – the healing power of a Hug.

Rebel Angelo and Swisse were big winners at Marketing‘s 2020 DigiZ Awards, a celebration of the year’s most brilliant digital marketing campaigns and the top digital marketers in the region. For their work on the Swisse Golden Collagen campaign, they took home the gold for the categories of Best Creative Use of AR/VR and Best Digital Content Marketing Programme; silver for Best Digital Advertising Strategies and Best Sales Lead Generation Solution categories; and bronze for the Best Social Media Strategies and Most Innovative Branded Content categories.
After this year’s awards, Charles Ravel, managing director, Asia, North America and BNC Global Brand for Swisse and Angel Kwok, director at Rebel Angelo sat down with Marketing to talk about their partnership, making a name for Swisse in the beauty segment, and how the Swisse Golden Collagen AR game became a hit on Facebook and Instagram.

First Ever Instagram Augmented Reality (AR) Game

In May 2019, Instagram Stories announced to expand the use of its customizable augmented reality (AR) effects. With the opening of the platform, we quickly leverage the opportunity to collaborate with Swisse to create the first ever augmented reality IG game and launched in August 2019 in Hong Kong. With this new feature, consumers can create AR effects that are customized to the brand – resulting in consumers creating more user generated content with added variation. More importantly, the content is created based on what our target audiences like, which is highly relevant to the consumers that drives real consumer engagement.
